Prof. Hu Xiewen Participated and Led the Research Team in the 14th session of the Asia Oceania Geoscience Symposium (AOGS) 2017

August 5thto 11th, 2017, the 14th Annual meeting of the Asia Oceania Geoscience Symposium (AOGS) was held at New City Convention Center of Singapore (Suntec Convention and Cisie Center), with 2,346 delegates from Asia and Oceania-related countries. A total of 1850 oral reports and more than 500 exhibitions were arranged in the conference. The conference focused on the earth and environment such as atmosphere science, planetary science, marine science, hydrology science, solid earth science, ecological geology science, geoscience interdisciplinary, etc. Prof. Hu Xiewen, Assistant Professor Luo Gang and Dr. Wang Yu attended and presented their papers at the conference.

Prof. Hu Xiewen reported "Some key Problems on debris flows in Wenchuan earthquake areas (Wenchuan earthquake-stricken area debris flow several key issues)".

Assistant Professor Luo Gang reported "Dynamic frictional characteristics of high-speed rolling limestone (high-speed rolling limestone dynamics friction characteristics)".

Dr. Wang Yu reported "Development Features of the Post-Fire Debris Flow Located in Reneyong Ditch, Sichuan Province, China (A study on the characteristics of debris flow development after the fire in Sichuan province)”.

The above-mentioned academic reports focused on the key scientific problems such as the kinematic mechanism of debris flow and high speed landslide in the earthquake area, which arouse the enthusiastic discussion of the participants. The reports reflected the innovation and display of the achievements by Southwest Jiaotong University in recent years.
